📘 How To Play (Quick Version)
Players: 3–10
Time: 15–45 minutes
- The Reader draws a Prompt and reads it out loud.
- Everyone else submits one Answer face down.
- The Reader shuffles, reads them dramatically (required), and picks the funniest or most accurate.
- The winner keeps the Prompt as a point.
Winning options:
- First to 5 prompts wins (or 3 for a shorter game)
- Play until your pet interrupts (yes, it’ll happen)
- Everyone declares the pet the winner (the correct ending!)
📘 Ways to Play
There’s no single “right” way to play Pet Legacy. Use the cards to laugh, reminisce, tell stories, or slow things down and reflect.
Choose the play style that fits your moment.
Classic Game Night
Best for: groups, laughter, friends
Draw a Prompt Card. Everyone plays an Answer Card that best matches your pet. The Reader chooses the funniest or most accurate answer. The winner keeps the Prompt Card as a point. Play to a set number of cards, or until your pet inevitably interrupts.
Story Mode
Best for: family gatherings, shared memories
Play each round normally. After the winning answer is chosen, the winner shares the real story behind it. Skip scorekeeping and let the prompts spark laughter, memories, and conversation.
Journal Mode
Best for: reflection, keepsakes, long-term memories
Draw one Prompt Card and answer it in writing instead of playing an Answer Card. Add a short story, date, or note about your pet. Repeat over time to create a written legacy of your pet’s personality, routines, and quirks.
Family Circle
Best for: mixed ages, intentional connection
Draw a Prompt Card and have everyone answer out loud in their own words. Vote as a group on the most accurate response or skip judging entirely. This version focuses on conversation and connection rather than competition.
